The tiny white dots on this magnolia tree are known as scale, tiny, sap-sucking insects that attach to branches, leaves, and stems quickly weakening the tree. This scale was treated with horticultural oil which act as an insecticide fungicide and might decide as it suffocates anything on the leaf blade that requires oxygen and protects it from further damage like a waxy coat of armor.
